We had a great Thanksgiving with the Jacobs family. All 8 of us (Jesse's parents, sister and niece were with us for Thanksgiving!) crowded into our little home to celebrate the holiday. It was so fun getting to host in our new house, use our china, and be together as a family. Jesse's mom and stepmom did most of the cooking and it was delicious!
Each Thanksgiving I try to take some time to reflect on the past year and say what I am thankful for. I love Thanksgiving for this reason-it causes you to be mindful of the things you have and all the blessings in your life. Some of the things I am so thankful for are:
1. My new little family: Luke brings so much joy to our lives, has grown our marriage and made it stronger (we have learned to communicate and work through issues in whole new ways!). My husband never ceases to amaze me-he balances work, family, and school so well and loves me beyond measure.
2. My family & Jesse's family: I am so thankful for how supportive and loving they are. I appreciate them so much and definitely wish we lived closer, but treasure the time when we're together.
3. My job: as much as I am looking forward to staying home with Luke full-time, I am grateful to have a job where I can make a difference in children's lives and grow as an educator. I know there are many people without jobs so I do not take mine for granted.
4. My church: we have made wonderful relationships there and have connected with other parents who have been a great support to us this past year.
5. My friends: although I don't get to see my friends as often as I'd like, I love the time we do get together; their support and friendship over the years means so much to me.
6. My relationship with the Lord: He has been SO faithful to us. I do not know how I would make it through the hard times or celebrate the good times without my faith.
Luke turned 8 months old a few days later. Each month he becomes more and more fun as his personality continue to develops. He is quite the talker and always has a lot to say! He is working on crawling but rolling is his primary way to get around. I also discovered yesterday (when he bit me!) that he has a tooth coming in on the bottom. I'm hoping he won't get too many more teeth until he's completely on solids and drinking cow's milk. :) Here are two of our favorite pics.
