Every month is going by faster and Luke just gets cuter & cuter :) Every day there seems to be something new he learns. This month he has shown more interest in toys and can now entertain himself for up to 20-30 minutes (I know that doesn't seem like much but it's VERY exciting for Jesse & I! We can now get a thing or two done without having toting him around with us). We also introduced him to cereal but he's not too sure about it. Here are some of our favorite pictures from this month:

Caught in the Moment...
Back to Work...
A lot of people have been wondering/asking me how it has been going back to work. So I thought I'd take a moment to share and reflect on the past 3 weeks (wow it feels like a lot longer than that!).
I love teaching (most days:) and I love being a mama (EVERY day). But, thus far, I don't love being a working mom. I am thankful for my job for many reasons though: 1.) Teaching is a VERY hard field to get into right now so I know that I am super blessed to have a stable job. 2.) I can be home early every afternoon and have multiple weeks off throughout the year. 3.) My 3rd grade team is very supportive and we work well together to collaborate and plan weekly lessons.
So, my goal each day is to have a good attitude, do my job the best that I can, love and teach my students the best that I can, and come home and love on Luke (and Jesse!) the best that I can. I am SO thankful that Luke is in great hands while I'm gone. He is with Jesse most of the week. Tuesdays he is with our wonderful friend, Lucy, who, other than my mom, is one of the most nurturing people I have ever met. She loves Luke to pieces! My friends have also stepped in to help when needed and we have a wonderful college student who baby-sits for us a few times a month.
Overall, it is the best working-mom situation I could ask for. We are hoping and praying that this will be my last year teaching full-time for a little while. I'm looking forward to being home full-time right when he begins his toddler years :) One of my favorite verses is: Train a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not turn from it. (Proverbs 22:6) I want to be the one training and guiding him to be a man after God's heart. What a great job, right?
